On my senior semesters along with my preceptor Dora Watson, RN, I started working on my organization and prioritization skills which has been a great success. As of right now I say my greatest achievement is time management, allowing me to deliver appropriate patient care. I feel my biggest achievement is yet to come.
Currently I do not possess an RN license but I anticipate taking the NCLEX-RN exam in January. As I mentioned in my resume my BLS for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association is up to date. I am able to operate clinical technical and computer devices to provide adequate patient care and locate relevant patient information.
In addition to my nursing skills I have developed strong communication skills. I had a situation during clinical rotation when a patient declined to follow the doctor’s orders and refused to see any health care personnel besides the doctor. I had to step up and use my therapeutic communication skills. At the end of my shift I had a good, respondent patient.
