Medical marijuana has been a hot commodity since the 1900’s. It is known for therapeutic use, that can treat different diseases and even alleviate the symptoms. Many people today, in the United States, are becoming more and more aware of the use of medicinal marijuana considering that states such as Alaska, California, Michigan, and many more have legalized it within the past few years. It has been a feud for states that haven’t legalized it and more and more people are becoming aware of the fact that the use of it has helped the many that are suffering from different illnesses. Instead of prescribing conventional medicine doctors should be able to prescribe cannabis to cancer patients, people suffering from chronic seizures, and people with …show more content…
That’s when it comes down to the question of, “What medicine will work?” Everyone’s body is different, but when it comes down to patients with cancer they feel just about the same amount of pain. They go through chemo, having to swallow an abundance of pills, and sometimes are even suffering from depression. Not all traditional pills will be of any cure for cancer patients and that’s where medicinal marijuana comes in. Medicinal marijuana is known for relieving nausea and vomiting that occurs during chemo. After going through chemo cancer patients tend to eat less every time but once a patient is prescribed the marijuana, it is known to increase the appetite. Most people have experienced this and it is not a great position to be in because your muscles tighten and they aren’t quite eager to relax. Some people are prone to getting multiple muscle spasms on occasion and cannot control them when they occur. A known treatment for muscle spasms is getting the area botoxed yet unfortunately that does not sound pleasant. Who knew medical marijuana could actually treat muscle spasms? Taking cannabis can actually alleviate the uncontrollable muscle tremors and can completely relax the muscles. The conventional medication that doctors have been prescribing patients with muscle spasms are known to have serious side effects when cannabis has not.
