Medical Humanities Personal Statement

Improved Essays
I believe that a strong connection between humanities and the field of medicine is essential toward building health care providers who are not only skilled at their craft, but who are compassionate, perceptive, and are able to draw from a wide base of knowledge not limited to the sciences toward making the patient feel at ease during an ailment or just for a checkup. This yearning is what motivates me to pursue the Medical Humanities Certificate program at TTUHSC. I’ve been interested in the mixture of the two disciplines since attending Yale College where I graduated with a degree in History of Science and Medicine in 2013. In addition to being a medical student, I am a fiction writer who has participated in many writing workshops in New York
