A family practitioner is known as the first pathway for everyday people to call when any member of the family is sick; a physician who specializes in caring for the entire family, no matter the age or gender. They diagnose and treat a variety of medical issues, but if the problem extends their knowledge the physician will refer the patient to an outside specialist. As stated in the first paragraph family practitioners need to possess an array of characteristics that hospitals and employers look for. These physicians hold the trust of many families when it comes to their medical care. My personality traits include social influence, achievement and interpersonal orientation, practical intelligence and conscientiousness; all of which are highly valued in the medical field and specifically this career. For starters your patients need to trust your influence especially when it comes to making important medical decisions for them or for their children. A family physician especially must have interpersonal skills; you must be sensitive to others and most importantly easy to get along with. Lastly, two other important personality traits I possess are practical intelligence, which I believe anybody working in the medical field needs to have and conscientiousness; being dependable and committed to whatever job you are preforming. Overall I strongly believe my personality traits would make me an acceptable applicant for this
