This degree will be essential in my future because it will help prepare me for the Medical College Admissions Test, also known as the MCAT. Getting a high score on the MCAT is a necessary step in my future because gaining admission into a medical school is highly competitive. When I am accepted, I plan to attend medical school for four years to earn my medical degree. Later, I will continue to complete my medical training in an emergency room residency program where I will work in an ER and shadow other doctors. After three years of residency I will finally be able to become board certified and ultimately reach my goal of practicing medicine as an emergency room physician. It will be a long road but I am dedicated and passionate. Currently, I have been working very hard in school to maintain my 4.0 grade point average. While I do spend a majority of my time on schoolwork, I am also involved outside of the classroom. While in high school last year, I was captain of the track and field team, a student tutor, and a member of the National Honors Society. Currently at UWM, I am a member of the American Medical Student Association, where I helped to organize a blood drive for UWM students last
