“All of the biggest technological inventions created by man - the airplane, the automobile, and the computer - says little about his intelligence, but speaks volumes about his laziness.” This quote was said by Mark Kennedy an American writer. As this may be a funny quote it is also true. Technology has been growing rapidly over the course of history. We lived in a world where writing letters were the normal thing to do. However, things have changed and people are not the way they use to be. We have become anti-social and a shy society. It has come to a point where people have no self control with using social media or the internet. It has also caused people to become depressed. Even though technology provides good resources, it has also affected our mind and body.

A Psychologist by the name Dr. Stephanie Mihalas stated that “Although some people go on the internet to decrease their depression we found that social media has actually become a root of unhealthy emotions.” I believe that depression has increased because of internet. Long ago there was little to no report of depression but as the internet started to flourish, that all changed rapidly. Many people have isolated themselves to the world and have become infatuated with the virtual world. Which in turn has torn the way the human mind works. Since the isolation of communication out mind longs to have friendships and be wanted but in turn social media has made many feel ignored then depressed and unwanted. I believe we should limit ourselves to social media and focus some time in the out doors. In turn we will only use the internet for the right reasons and decrease
