How does the media portray the elderly today? How or why may that image change in the future?

How does the media portray the elderly today? There are several ways that the media portrays the elderly. Whether it be in a good light or a bad light. We all see the commercials on TV for life alert, hospice and even some nursing or retirement homes. This portrays an idea that elderly people are weak and are in a constant need of help. I would like to disagree with this idea. I’m not saying that elderly people do not need any help, I am merely saying that they are not nearly as weakly minded as society and the media likes to think and portrays them as. I believe that the elderly are actually some of if not the strongest people we have
