The media act as a vehicle to promote countless messages and ideologies everyday, but in a media world where patriarchal values still reign high, there is a major issue of sexism at hand. Women are under represented in virtually all aspects of media, news media specifically. In a 2015 report on the status of women in the media, it is stated that “in evening broadcast news, women are on-camera 32 percent of the time; in print news, women report 37 percent of the stories; on the Internet, women write 42 percent of the news; and on the wires, women garner only 38 percent of the bylines” (“Report on the Status of Women in U.S. Media 2015”).
