In this technology driven society, media has become a cesspool where various businesses are constantly competing against one another to expand their campaigns to the consumers. Media plays a vital role when it comes to communicating and informing the public through the usage of television, radio, newspapers, and magazines. In addition, businesses pave our roads, streets and any other noticeable area with flashing billboards, posters, flyers and spam mail that exposes us to different types of commercializing products on a day-to-day basis with the hopes of influencing the consumers’ opinion. With today’s current and growing technology, it is nearly impossible to escape the invasion of advertisement through media. As a matter of fact, media and culture have become such an essential part of the everyday lives of many, which includes myself, that often times it is difficult to realize how much people depend on it and the effect it casts upon society.
Upon the completion of the 24-hour media log, it brought certain things to my attention and taught me many things about the growing world today that I did not know previously. Given this, in my everyday life, I experience various aspects that shows how social media impacts us, as human beings, to be better people and brings out the good nature in us.
