The Pursuit of Happiness is a tricky statement to isolate. It can mean so many things that it is more of a great quote to look up to rather than a democratic right. All humans on this earth believe it is their undeniable right to be happy, and it is this fact that has caused all things great and terrible. Where would the human race go to be happy.…

In America, the media plays a huge role in the way we think. Things such as movies, music, TV shows, even newspapers and magazines can influence our opinions and thoughts on certain subjects. Thoughts and equality towards social classes are no different. In most modern TV shows and movies, the social class that is usually represented is the upper class, but even then, the way the upper class is shown in representation is generally wrong. This has been this way for quite a long time, even since the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, and will probably not change anytime soon.…

The documentary discusses the language used to describe women in media and how this language plays into the derogatory view of women. They gave an example of whether the word “stated” or “complained” was used to describe a woman’s comments in an article vs. a man’s comments. The language used will determine how the world perceives her; moreover, a man will have “stated” something and a woman will have “complained” about something, in the same article.
