The reason why I specifically wanted to come to MEDEX is because of the history of the program. Having the first class being made up of Army medics and Navy corpsman gives me great pride to have served in the military. I wish to honor that commitment by attending MEDEX and serving as PA in the Navy once graduating. Serving in the military gave me the expertise I have today. I never was a good student in high school. I joined the Navy, where I learned abundance of hands on skills with some academic knowledge. Once I was in college. My first couple of years were rough. I had terrible study habits and I had the attitude of "C" get degrees. Unfortunately Cs do not get you into grad school. It wasn't until my junior I needed to try much harder if I wanted to go to PA school, thinking that my experience in the Navy would carry me. So I buckled down and begin to study harder and longer and above all ask for help. I don't know if was stubbornness or pride but I would never ask for help. However once I graduated my GPA was still well below most PA school standards though I was trying my hardest. This is why for the past year and half I've been taking and retaking classes to boost my GPA above the 3.0 mark. I think if one was to look at my transcripts they will see how dedicated I am to achieving my goal in attending school at
