Medex Mission Statement

Improved Essays
Based off the mission statement of MEDEX and the history behind the program I believe I meet that criteria. I think I do come from a diverse background of experiences. I have cared for every age group out there, from newborns to most elderly of individuals. Experiencing a long list of illnesses, conditions, and healing. My value that I hold dearest to me is caring for my family. I know if a family member of mine was ill I would want the best care. I think I can be the best at all aspect of being a PA.

The reason why I specifically wanted to come to MEDEX is because of the history of the program. Having the first class being made up of Army medics and Navy corpsman gives me great pride to have served in the military. I wish to honor that commitment by attending MEDEX and serving as PA in the Navy once graduating. Serving in the military gave me the expertise I have today. I had the pleasure serving with some of the finest nurses, doctors, and PA

I never was a good student in high school. I joined the Navy, where I learned abundance of hands on skills with some academic knowledge. Once I was in college. My first couple of years were rough. I had terrible study habits and I had the attitude of "C" get degrees. Unfortunately Cs do not get you into grad school. It wasn't until my junior I needed to try much harder if I wanted to go to PA school, thinking that my experience in the Navy would carry me. So I buckled down and begin to study harder and longer and above all ask for help. I don't know if was stubbornness or pride but I would never ask for help. However once I graduated my GPA was still well below most PA school standards though I was trying my hardest. This is why for the past year and half I've been taking and retaking classes to boost my GPA above the 3.0 mark. I think if one was to look at my transcripts they will see how dedicated I am to achieving my goal in attending school at

As high school progressed, so did my GPA and the rigor of the courses I was taking. I set aside what I could not control and focused on what I could. With the help of some incredible teachers, my passion for science blossomed and my drive to get good grades, take challenging courses, and explore my passion for science grew. It was an honest passion interest and love for learning, not something forced upon me by my parents or my school. I think for many high school students their schedule and classes become something that will make their parents happy or look good on college transcripts, but it is something so much more for me.…

Army Brat When questioning myself on what experiences throughout my life have had an effect on my growing and I have learned from, I think of many different experiences. Though, the one experience that has had the most significant continuous impact on my life, the one I have gained the most knowledge from, would be growing up with a military parent.
