The mechanochemical method was employed to synthesis CP and MgCP where calcium hydroxide (CaOH2), phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and magnesium hydroxide (MgOH2) were used as precursors. Table 3.1 shows the parameter used by varying the weight percentages (wt. %) of Mg.

The material is then broken into particles. The size of the particle decreases the effect of the collision between ball mills. The mechanochemical method is used to mix the magnesium doped to calcium phosphate by using a planetary ball mill. The ball mills are a type of grinder which consists of a hollow cylindrical shape used to fines the mixing sample. The ball mill can be the steel, stainless steel or rubber.

The Sample: The beams enter the sample division where it will be transmitted after analysis.
4. The Detector: The beam will pass through the detector for the measurement.
5. The Computer: The signal will be interpreted and sent to the computer where the transmission will happen. The final infrared spectrum is present for interpret.
3.4 Compaction
The synthesized powder is pressed into a disc shape with the diameter is twice to the thickness. The compaction is the process after the blending and mixing process. The composition of compaction process will produce the green body. This powder compaction process is chosen based on its advantages because it can save time and money in term of manufacture in mechanical production. These methods also have less or no machining. The composition will be press by using Carver press machine with 2.5 MPa load for 5 minutes for each sample. Figure 3.6 shows the carver press machine. Figure 3.6: Press Machine for powder compaction (Carver Press Machine) Figure 3.7: Press Machine for powder compaction (Carver Press Machine) Figure 3.7 shows the process of compaction, where magnesium doped calcium phosphate was inserted into the mold. The upper and lower uniaxial press machine will be press the sample powder. The compaction process will be continued until the green compact produced. Next, the powder compaction sample will be removed from the
