Mecca is sometimes referred to as the “Mother of Cities”. It is the holiest place in the Islamic world. Mecca was the place where Muhammad was born. ( 570 CE to 632 CE). Muhammad was a prophet, a messenger of God. He was the founder of Muslim faith.According to the Islamic faith, Muslims must pray at least five time a day, bowing down in the direction of Mecca. Mecca is physically located 45 miles east of Red Sea port of Jeddah, a city surrounded by the Sirat Mountains. Mecca is an Arabian commercial center. It is dominated by Quraysh.
