Meat Eaters Day Research Paper

Improved Essays
I personally did not like the vegan day because I can’t live without eating meat. Meat Eaters day was my day. I was a team with Han, Casey and Ori. I had two of troublemakers at the same time. They kept arguing each other about their ideas. Han and I basically followed whatever they wanted to avoid any argument. The presentation was pretty, but each of the components did not actually go well together. It did not build up any flavors into layers. Simple and boring. Once again, they should respect other’s opinion more. I paid the same tuition as they did.

Venison steak with foie gras bread pudding
The steak did not have the gamey flavor of venison and cooked well to tender texture. The mango apple sauce was good to dip with it, but the yuzu sauce was too powerful. The bread pudding was delicious

I guess they did not have enough time to cook it until very tender. Also, the cabbage roll was chewy. The green part is usually more chewy than the yellow part, so they could have used the yellowish green part or make it little smaller.

Roasted pork loin with sautéed Swiss chard, apple chip, and sweet potato duchess
It was my dish, and I was quite satisfied with the visual of the dish. The sauce was not reduced enough to have more rich flavor, and we should put more salt and less pepper on the pork loin. The apple chip came out really crispy with no bitter flavor, but the color was not so attractive. The dish tasted okay, but nothing so special about it.

Fried squab with waffle
The crunchiness of the batter was great, but once I have a bite in it, I saw the blood vessel on the bone. I did not care that much, but other students could not finish eating it. I ate all the squab for them because I like any kind of fried birds. Also, the gravy sauce was solidified because of the temperature. The breakdown of the waffle machine let them spend more time on making waffles.

    1) The purpose of “Meatless Monday” is to raise awareness of the detrimental environmental impact of eating meat, preserve precious natural resources and to encourage people to help slow climate change: “If being the number one contributor to the most serious threat facing the planet (global warming) isn't enough, what is?”. I would say that the idea if the Meatless Monday is great and I would definitely participate. Each person can decide what is the reason for him to participate – the described by Jonathan Foer contemporary conventional factory farming conditions and animal’s suffering or the fact that it causes unintended health consequences and encompasses also environmental problems. “Not responding is a response - we are equally responsible for what we don't do.”…

We arrived around one in the afternoon and were surprised to find that the customers were few and far between. We were seated immediately, and our server, Juan, was at our table within seconds. He brought with him three baskets of chips and three bowls of salsa. Our food arrived at our table about ten minutes after we ordered.…

The Meatpacking District is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC because of how hip it is and how it is packed with steel and glass lofts, with sun pouring though the oversized windows. It always gives me an electric feeling walking around the cobble streets, looking at the Chelsea Market and walking the High Line. All of that sprightliness is encapsulated perfectly into the Fig and Olive. It has those floor to ceiling windows, that let rays seep in, reinforced by industrial steal framing the beautiful warehouses. The loft-like space of the restaurant has many rugged aspects like the hanging warehouse pendant lights and the metallic components throughout, however Fig and Olive also has a calm Mediterranean feel to its decor.…

Livestock produces 116,000lbs of waste per second. Many people argue that gas from cars is causing the majority of pollution, the real reason is lack of room for cows to roam. The cows waste ends up in one area and seeps into the air, oceans, lakes, and rivers. It takes 1000 gallons of water for a cow to make 1 gallon of milk. 2500 gallons of water are used to produce 1LB of beef.…

Every time I walk into Texas Roadhouse my eyes wonder over to where the rolls and their special cinnamon butter waiting to be consumed by the customer. I hear country music playing in the background, and feel peanuts crumbling under my feet like leaves on a beautiful autumn day. Without looking at the menu, my mind is already preparing my stomach for the flavorful food that I am about to encounter. Texas Roadhouse gives the Newark population somewhere local to get a great steak while getting a significate value. From personal experience most of the other steakhouses will get very pricey for a family of five making it difficult to dine at their restaurant while living on a tight budget.…

People usually go to a restaurant not only for the convenience; the most important element is that the restaurant has delicious food, which they cannot make it at home; also other restaurant cannot make that taste. I mean it should be has some more special than other restaurant, such as, the service very well or the special environment as so on. For me, the most elements adjust a restaurant it should be they pick up the fresh ingredients used in the food. That is the crucial for customers; they don’t want to send money payment for a bad or worse food.…
