The main goal of the meaningful use incentive is to improve the health of Americans and the performance of the nation’s health system through health information technology. Improving quality, safety, efficiency, and reducing health disparities while engaging patients and their families within the system is vital to improve care coordination between health care providers while maintaining adequate privacy and security protections for personal health information.
