I realized that by helping others, I was actually helping myself. After the volunteer work at the hospital was over, I continued doing volunteer work at the Houston Food Bank, D’Feet Breast Cancer walk, and with Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Meanwhile, I decided to go into the science field because this field provides the privilege of doing something for our community. However, later on I decided that I want to join the other side of the science, the one more related to mathematics and computers, but I will always be fond of the biological and medical science. People just need to recognize them. I believe that each day is an achievement on its own. However, the most meaningful experience in my life is when I first did my volunteer service in Clear Lake Regional Hospital in summer program 2012.

I wanted to do volunteer service in hospital prior to making any inferences about my future field of study. In hospital, I was doing my volunteer service based on their need. Sometimes I was helping on the medical front desk, and other time I was helping in children’s ward organizing baby food and some files. I was not in direct contact with any patients. However, I got the chance to first handedly experience the environment in hospital.
One day, when the front desk manager was unable to come. I got the chance to manage the front desk on my own until someone took her place. When I was working on the front desk, I saw a couple with their newborn child. I guess they were there for the check-up of their child. The smile on their face was indescribable. I still remember their smile and their happiness. On that day, I realized that the health care professional’s job is not just based on profit. It is also a job which spreads happiness and love among the
