Once meaning “wild” we can look at the word bravery, and understand that it has some similar aspects of wild behavior. In order to be brave, you must take some risks, or would you really be acting brave if you are not afraid of what is to come? The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word as “the quality or state of having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear or difficulty.” This can be portrayed through a variety of situations, such as someone running into a burning building to save someone. This can also be used to describe a simpler scenario such as standing up for someone else. Both of these acts use bravery to successfully overcome a situation of fear for oneself. In my opinion, bravery is when a person has enough confidence in themselves to achieve a task that once may have seemed nearly impossible. Bravery is the difference of who you were and who you have become after accomplishing a goal in your life. Sometimes the word bravery can be misplaced by the similar word courage.
