You are probably thinking, really a Disney Pixar movie represents this definition of courage? The answer is yes. A Bug’s Life shows the story of the ant colony always having an enormous fear of the grasshoppers. When, a tiny unknown and awkward ant decides to venture from the colony in search of other bugs that can protect his colony. The thought alone of leaving the colony or home for humans, and going into a world you’ve never seen before takes a lot of courage. As well as no one believing that this ant can go and find these guards makes him have to be even more courageous. But when he finds his guards, then end up being a circus act unable to help him. He however encourages them into thinking they are cable of accomplishing anything. By the end of the movie this little guy is so full of courage that he and his “guards” are able to ward off the vicious bullies of grasshoppers. Reclaiming the colony to the ants. As a kid I was unable to see that message, but looking back it gives a whole new meaning to the word …show more content…
There have been hundreds of individuals in history and modern day history that has showed the ability to be courageous in times of inequality or suffering. However, one person has been in the media lately that has stood out to me. Malala Yousafzai. A teenager from Middle East looking for an education, something that the Taliban don't believe in for women. Dodging bullets as well as the Taliban, who try to punish her. Would any teenager put themselves through this for education? I doubt it. An inspiration to all women. She’s been able to do this for the past couple of years to do this. Now trying to make that possible for all the women in the Middle East and countries that disagree with that belief. Her strength to go through that day in and day out, knowing the consequences she could ultimately face. Courage is the one word that I think of for a trait to describe this

Courage follows the ongoing theme of the doctrine of the mean and “is a mean state, in respect of fear and boldness.” This means it is the ideal balance between rashness and cowardice. Those who are courageous are so because they are capable of taking the good from both extremes. Aristotle states “The Brave are quick and sharp in action, but before are quiet and composed.” While men with courage are bold in the moment, they must also be thinking and calm in a respect to tame the more wild side of bravery.…
