1. The movie Mean Girls has its own unique high school culture and within that culture there are many social communities. People tend to divide into their own groups with others who share similar ideas and values and this was also true in my high school, but my high school differed by being more open and accepting different groups similar to the ending of the movie. Also, social communities also have their own rules for example the plastics wear pink on Wednesdays and this stays the same to this day. People are guided by rules to fit in whether its what they wear, do, say, or act. Some other differences between the Mean Girls culture and my high school’s culture were the school rules. We were not allowed to wear any revealing clothing, no holes in clothing, and we could barley hug a friend without getting into trouble and this was completely opposite in Mean Girls. Finally, most high schools have spring flings, homecomings, or proms. The way the movie demonstrated social comparison in the spring fling is exactly how I experienced it throughout my high school career. A lot of girls stress their selves out and get jealous about whom the nominees are for queen.
