Mean Girl Stereotypes In Don T Look Back

In the two columns in the first page I had ranked Don’t Look Back as the best book I have read. Mostly because it’s true, it has the right amount of drama, romance, mystery, and action. The story involves a girl named Samantha, whom went missing alongside with her best friend, Cassie. She was found alone aswell with no memory of who she was and what happened to her or Cassie. She starts learning about herself, but learns that she doesn’t like who she was. She and Cassie were the perfect duo for havoc, they took the mean girl stereotype to a whole new level. As Sam progresses, she basically considers her amnesia as a second chance. She turns for the good, as a daughter, sister, and friend. She even starts to fall in love with a another boy …show more content…
O’ boy, do I tell you that when she does find out the truth it will make you feel all sorts of emotions. Which is why this story was ranked my number one favorite. Although my least favorite was Boy Toy. The book is a about a boy named Josh, who was molested by his teacher at the age of thirteen and since the town he lives in is small the word spread quickly when their relationship came to the surface. She had went to prison for fifteen years, but things change when the now senior in highschool learns that his molester is being let out of prison ten years early. He then starts to recall all of the memories of his past and is hit with the harsh reality and truth behind what happened. The story was too graphic for me, especially as a student with teachers that surround me on a daily basis. It’s hard for me to imagine this, maybe i'm just in denial that this stuff actually happens in real life. But I wouldn’t like to think about it. That is why this book was rated my least …show more content…
The five book series included a dystopian country named Illea and it is ruled by a monarchy. When the Prince comes of age a selection comes to be, where 35 girls are chosen to compete in becoming the Prince’s wife. I found the whole concept quite interesting and it was like watching Bachelor in a book form. There is drama, fights, romance, etc. I read the book in 3 days from interested I was. It was funny and had a great plot. When I reached the ending I was craving to find out more and who the Prince was gonna choose. I have easily read all five books and enjoyed them aswell, giving the rating as easiest book I have

At first, I didn’t like the time period, but after reading the book for a while, I loved it. I only rate it 4 because the book could use more action, but overall, the book was amazing and I recommend it to people that like books about kings, castles, and deception. 10)If I was to make a dream movie cast for this book, I would choose Logan Lerman for the part of Sage because he looks like how the author described Sage in the book.…

I will discuss how Queer theory, Anti-racist Theory, and Radical Feminist Theory is portrayed in the Mean Girls. Firstly, Queer theory is shown. In the beginning of Mean Girls, we see some people that are home schooled. One boy says, “And on the 3rd day, God created the Remington bolt-action rifle; so that man could fight the dinosaurs … and the homosexuals” to which the others return with “Amen”.…

Popular culture and mass media has a large influence on our identities, behaviors, and interacts with people in society. Thousands of movies are made and watched throughout the globe, it is a form of entertainment that presents a bigger picture than most of us can capture. When we begin to analyze films using sociological theory, we are introduced to new themes, conflicts, and emotions that we do not originally notice. In this case, I will be analyzing a clip from the movie Mean Girls, one of the most popular films in mass media today, and use it to demonstrate how class conflict and dramaturgy occur. A well-known sociological theorist by the name of Karl Marx spent his time analyzing and understanding how class conflict arises.…

Nicola Yoon develops the theme of love through the characters Madeline Whitter and Oliver, as they form a friendship and eventually fall in love. In the beginning of the novel they are strangers, but they soon form a friendship and as the book progresses they start to develop feelings for each other and even risk their lives for each other. This novel shows that people will risk anything for love. I would give this book a rating of a 9 because it does a good job of demonstrating the theme of love through it’s characters and it can relate to young adults who are experiencing love. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend because teenagers my age would enjoy a book that can relate to us and this novel gives people a sense of…

Mean Girls highlights the relatable social and power dynamics in high school through the two opposite personalities of Regina George and Cady Heron, while revealing the cruel world that girls can bring upon students using persuasion and coercion. I will be analyzing the movie through story characteristics in narrative transportation theory and social judgement theory. Narrative transportation theory can be applied to movies to persuade its viewers through identifiable characters, imaginable plot, and verisimilitude. Social judgement theory elaborates on how we are influenced in our attitudes and behaviors from the ones around us. First, I will explain how and why the theories that were used and if their use was justified.…

Everyone has their unique personality; some people may be kind while others may be evil. But how do these people develop their personality? Erickson answers this question. According to him, people have to go through eight stages of psychosocial development and experience the differences between them as an individual and the society to be the way they are. Cady, an innocent little girl from the movie, Mean Girls, is a perfect example to prove the Erickson’s theory.…
