I think it is really important that everyone be as supportive as they can to the elderly people around us. As a granddaughter I find it essential to spend time with my grandma and help her as much as I can. My grandpa died in 2007 so she is very lonely. My grandma refuses to drive because her husband died in a car accident. Therefore, she has to stay at home majority of the time unless someone is able to take her somewhere. I have heard of the company Meals on Wheels because my grandma was thinking about joining it since she doesn’t get to go to the grocery store that much. She never did end up going through with it because she enjoys cooking so much. I try and take her to the store as frequently as I can so she can stock up her cabinets.
