Davis relived these accounts by telling stories of how him and his classmates were treated. He told a story of how one of his classmates, a shy Korean girl, was poked in the eyelid with a pencil and the teacher showed little to no remorse.
David got together with his classmates one day outside the classroom and they spoke of their accounts. David found this to be a comfort as he was not alone in his suffering. This is where he found a place with his fellow classmates.
