Perhaps one of the deadliest attacks on American soil prior to September 2001 is the Bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The main perpetrator was Timothy James McVeigh. McVeigh was later tired and executed for this act of domestic terrorism. McVeigh planned to incite a revolution against the Federual Government resulted in 168 people losing their lives. Who was Timothy McVeigh and what lead up to the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building.

Timothy McVeigh was born on April 23, 1968 in Lockport, New York. McVeigh was the middle child of William McVeigh and Mildred "Mickey" Noreen. McVeigh had two sisters, Patricia the youngest and Jennifer the oldest. McVeigh’s early childhood can be described as rocky. After experiencing and off and on again relationship McVeigh’s parents separated when he was only ten. McVeigh stayed with his father and moved to Pendleton, New York. McVeigh was on the track team and he enjoyed basketball. McVeigh’s real passion was guns. McVeigh would often shoot cans in a field behind their house. McVeigh had played Chicken McNuggets in a school play inspired by McDonalds, earning him the nickname "Chicken McVeigh". Although not described as a loner, McVeigh was a shy and quiet teenager who had few friends. McVeigh only hanged around a small circle of friends.
