There is no cost for the families, they have nutritious and healthy home-cooked meals, private bedrooms always with bright colors and each room has a theme to provide a good state of mind and to induce positiveness. “A positive attitude can also help you overcome the mental habit of "awfulizing", when you awfulize, you exaggerate the unpleasantness of a negative situation and you convince yourself that the situation is unbearable“(Lorne Cansler, 2010). That is why the Ronald McDonald House focuses on the positive things in life even though the children have a serious or terminal illness.
