Mcdonald's Report

Working at Mcdonald's was different than I expected. I thought my job was going to be horrible. Everyone makes Mcdonald's seem like the worst place to work. Before I worked my first shift I thought that I would mirror an instructor on how to assemble each sandwich, flip burgers, and take orders but instead on my first day they threw me on the grill and handed me a spatula. Luckily I had prior knowledge in the kitchen and I knew how to fry, grill, and assemble most sandwiches. A manager came around about an hour into my first shift and properly taught me how to “drop” meat on the grills, “drop” things into the fryers and how to make a few simple sandwiches like a McChicken.

I was the only one who knew how to take orders so put on a headset and prepared myself for the worst. The first car pulled through and I said
“welcome to Mcdonalds what can I get for you today?”

That night we got extremely busy but I balanced taking orders and paying out the costumers perfectly fine. I was thrilled with myself. My manager Jason walked to the back booth and praised me because he “didn’t know that I knew the register that well”.

I have now worked at Mcdonalds for almost five months and I know how to do everything. From assembling our most difficult sandwiches to cleaning the fryers. My new store manager is even considering promoting me to a shift manager. Even tho I have only been there for roughly five months I have put a tremendous effort into work. I’m always on time, following rules, covering shifts, and giving the best customer service that i’m capable of. Working at Mcdonalds had taught me what having a good job feels like and for that I will forever be
