Mcdonald's Ad Analysis Essay

Decent Essays
After watching several commercials and finding which techniques were used and how I decided that the McDonald’s advertisement for their new sweet and sour sauce was the best at influencing its target audience. First of all, the techniques they used were: avant-garde and transfer, their target audience was everyone who had watched the commercial. The commercial showed a regular man, walking into his local McDonald's, and seeing Olympic athletes enjoying McDonald’s. Then the narrator started talking about their new sauce, which was LIMITED TIME ONLY, and that was an example of avant-garde. The commercial was very bright and cheerful, so it was clear that McDonald’s tried to transfer a cheerful, healthy and athletic vibe, using the Olympic

L’Oreal, Shiseido, Unilever, and Emami all share a common thread. They each, like many other make-up companies, make a profit off of colorism – prejudice against individuals with a dark skin tone – through the manufacture and sell of skin lighteners. The skin lightening industry is worth millions of dollars and is still growing in many countries around the world. After the several commercials and analyzing the persuasive techniques that were used. I found the McDonald commercial to be the best at influencing its target audience. McDonald's is known to be very unhealthy, so they hired Olympic athletes to eat there to make McDonald's look healthy, which i think is not still. They used many background characters to make it look more popular, which is bandwagon. The commercial says “for a few weeks only” making it avant…

Most Super Bowls these days are centered around commercials, but this Sunday was a very notable exception. With the Patriots and the Falcons putting on a show for the ages, most of us were forced to use the ad breaks for bathroom visits and heaping our plates with snacks. That's a shame, because this year's commercial crop was the most interesting one in a while. Here are the best ads you might have missed: • Budweiser: Born the Hard Way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZmlRtpzwos Budweiser was one of many brands that chose to get political at this year's Super Bowl.…

The main objective of advertisements is to showcase a product, awareness or an event to lure a targeted audience to purchase whatever they are selling. Many methods are used to achieve this captivating process. Burger King, one of the many major fast food chains, has created very appealing and sometimes humorous advertising campaigns, however, this promotion is blown out of proportion with lust and desire for more than what is being promoted. The advertisement covers all three rhetorical appeals and is effective in both literal and figurative aspects.…

Budweiser: Best Buds, 2014 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p_3lITiK_Q) Budweiser has had success of the years for the influential advertisements, especially the ones which view during the Superbowl. However, Budweiser does not employ the central route technique of persuasion, suggesting the peripheral route is just as successful. There is not a clear communicator in this advertisement; there is not direct speaking so the advertisement relies on a different form of communication. There are four significant communicators of the message; the puppy, the horse, the dog breeder, and the farmer – none of which speak directly about the beer.…

For this assignment, I decided to analyze the MAC Viva Glam advertisement, featuring Miley Cyrus. Viva Glam is the name of the lipstick that the MAC company created in 1994 and ever since then, the company's ads have featured numerous famous musicians with Miley Cyrus being one of the most recent ones. In the ad, Cyrus is portrayed laying down on what seems to be a dance club floor. She is shown to be laying down in a suggestive position; her hands are tucked behind her head exposing her bust while she is seductively gazing into the camera. In addition, Miley's legs are outspread while being propped on the mirror wall.…

Advertisements as a Genre Commercial advertisement is a genre directed to all people. Although all commercials fall under the same genre, there are many different techniques the author can take, depending on the purpose of the commercial and the audience that the author wants to reach. For example, an advertiser can take the celebrity approach and have a celebrity appearance in the commercial. This shows the audience that if the company is able to have someone famous represent them, they must be legitimate. Also, it allows people to think they can have the perfect life, just like their favorite role model.…
