Technology has advanced so well and has taken over the world by making it possible to avoid the long lines at restaurants by online reservation, shop for new clothes and groceries without leaving the comfort of home, and manufacture of airplane parts with a click of a button using 3D printing technology. Through this, it is no surprise that society has grown to prefer fast and easy results which save time and energy over slow and complicated. This is the main point of mcdonaldization, which is defined to be giving importance to characteristics like quantity, efficiency, and predictability which brings both positive and negative effects of automation and irrationality of rationality. We like to have a knowledge on what to expect when we pay for something, and this is presented in the third characteristic of McDonaldization. Once we are familiar to a product, we expect that the following versions of is would either be just as good, or even better quality than the previous. Take for example the models of cars. Every year, a new version of each model is released which is greatly based on the designs from the last year. A few improvements and changes may be observed but other that, not much else can be observed to be different. Another example is in the music industry wherein artists tend to produce similar types of music throughout their career. This predictability in what sort of music they produce allows for listeners to determine whether they like a new song or not. This keeps an audience for the music artist and a loyal following. This is something that consumers like because there is more of a guarantee that the quality is something they like and are able to take control over in an economy wherein everything is changing so
