Personalized learning allows students to adjust their education p,an to better suit their needs. It takes into account the learner's weaknesses, strengths, personal goals, and even their personal interests. In today's schools, there had become a significant emphasis on college readiness and preparing students for education beyond that of the high school level. In McCelland's article, "Personalization Equals Success", she expresses the belief that schools should include educational programs that provides students with oppritunities to explore beyond just college readiness. Colorado has led the initiative for online and digital education with two very different online programs, Rocky Mountain Digital Academy and Mountain view Virtual. RMDA
