My designated personality preferences play specific roles in how I approach the HSA program. In a class or group setting my preference for introversion is ignored, I switch to an extraversion preference by participating a lot in class and interacting with the cohort. Though I prefer to be an introvert, I have never felt uncomfortable outside that preference in a classroom setting. Additionally, my preferences of goal oriented, practical, and organized are generally upheld. I tend to focus on what I want from the program and try to determine how to achieve it. Currently, I have enlisted the help of established health administrators to guide me in achieving my goals in the best possible way. I don’t micro-manage the group, after each member gets their assigned tasks I let them decide how to handle it. I focus on the results rather than which route they took to get there. I believe this method allows each member to operate in a manner that is more comfortable for them. Because of this approach, I don’t have problems communicating with group members. I can be argumentative at times when I feel someone fails to recognize their perspective is not the only one.
