I have worked as a waitress since 2012 and enjoy holding this position for a number of reasons. Firstly, it quenches my extrovert desire for social interaction with a range of customers. Secondly, extroverts communicate with obvious enthusiasm, which makes me successful at ensuring customer satisfaction. I approach all tasks with enthusiasm and high expectations of myself, and if my expectations are not met, I am hard on myself.

This setting must not be stifling and should promote staff interactions and a feeling of unity amongst employees and clients. Ideally colleagues with a good sense of humour and fun would create a positive working environment and prevent me from becoming too absorbed in my work – as ENTJ’s are prone to doing. Logical systems and procedures, rosters prepared well in advance and communication should be well established in order to satisfy my ENTJ need for structure and proactivity.
Mixed practice appeals to me because of the amount of variation which will expand my field of expertise and allow me to be challenged in a greater number of ways by different species. It also keeps my options open if I ever decide to specialise. Being an ENTJ, I am determined to succeed, but also strive to challenge myself with new things and improve my strategies for future scenarios; this is why I think I may find a managerial role or position of responsibility fulfilling.
