Ever since a young age, I have been surrounded by the business world as my family owns a car dealership. Growing up, I can recount spending time with my dad in his office talking about what it is like running a business. Additionally, at a young age my family instilled into me the value of investing for the future. Dinner table talk would often be about our stocks and the general stock market.
Going into high school my parents strongly encouraged me to join our local Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter. Undoubtedly, FBLA played a vital role in shaping my career interest as I have had the opportunity to explore the different sectors of business. Of course, I’ll try to keep it brief though I could likely speak at length about why I want to get a PHD in geography. It’s certainly not a decision I take lightly considering the amount of resources that go into preparing applications and the sacrifices that PHD students make in terms of time and finance.
