Mayo Clinic’s website provides a user-friendly and accessible interface for those seeking answers concerning their mental health (Mayo). In addition to holding a large array of information, information is presented in a variety of modes (Mayo). For instance, the dashboard on the main page houses several dropdown menus directing one to a surplus of links such as, “Patient Care” and “Health Info,” ‘Education, “and “Departments and Centres.” Within “Patient Care and Health Info,” one can find information on aspects of health such as symptoms, diseases, billing and insurance (Mayo). Being that there are over 25 institutes that make up the National Institutes of Health, such as, the National Institute of Mental Health which provides a more comprehensive and in-depth look in the area of mental health, users are provided quick links to each of the individual institutes. In keeping the focus on the National Institute of Mental Health, upon arriving on the website’s homepage, one comes in view of a list of mental health topics, including anxiety disorders, depression, and bipolar disorder (Health). Within this view one can also navigate and be given access to “Health and Education Information,” “Outreach Activities” and “Funding and Research Priorities” (Health). Under health and education, users can find advice on finding the right healthcare provider or treatment, how to get immediate help when in crisis, and statistics as they pertain to mental health (Health). Under “Outreach” one is informed of public involvement concerning outreach, outreach partners, and the like (Health). “Funding” provides one insight into funding opportunities and announcements, for instance, neuroscience research funding contacts in the federal government (Health).
