Maya Angelous Words

In the words of Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” In my personal opinion, I highly agree with that for many reasons being, of course.

I see this quite often in shows, movies, and books. A book I read recently in one of my classes involved this girl who suffered this problem a lot. She had placed her trust in many people at her school only for them to make some foolish actions that placed her in depression. For example, a boy she liked had admitted to liking her back only to find out later that he is spreading very inappropriate rumors about her. Now this can be another action that one could get hurt by. Let just say some person was in a bad mood and is easily angered. That DOESN’T give you the right to make childish hand gestures like a gun or a knife for example. Now for others it may not mean anything but others don’t really like the idea of practically being told to kill themselves or that they’ll kill them. It is awfully rude and there’s people who are actually very sensitive about that. Lastly, probably the biggest issue would be the physical contact. Many people everyday are constantly getting beat up. May it be getting lifted up from the collar or getting punched across the face for no apparent reason. It is just terrible and will certainly scar the person’s view of people from now on. To top it all off, there’s always those groups of boys or girls who laugh and point at someone walking down the hall and all I have to say is, what in the world is the point in that. It’s really immature and they don’t know what people go through and don’t have any right to judge. As Maya said, actions do speak louder than words. The victims of these terrible actions will certainly lose their trust in people which will only make the situations worse. I believe that they express more than words do alone and honestly, no one deserves to go through
