Maya Angelou is one of the most renowned influential voices of time. She has over 50 honorary doctorate degrees and became a celebrated poet, memoirist, educator and civil rights activist.

Maya Angelou was born on April 4th, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born by the name Marguerite Johnson, and throughout her life, she as raised in St. Lousies and stamps Arkansas. Maya Angelou was an African-American, who was very multi-talented as she was an author, actress, screenwriter, dancer and poet. Maya had a very difficult and hard childhood whilst growing up.
