Maxon's Relationship In The Selection Series

Imagine being in a fantasy relationship with a prince when your first love is still waiting for you to come back to him. The Selection series shows an intense love triangle between Maxon, Aspen, and America. With her in the Selection alongside Maxon and Aspen a guard in the castle, numerous complicated situations have arisen throughout the story. This journal will explain how Maxon and America’s relationship first started and how it is now, and how her and Aslpen’s relationship begun and how its changed.

The beginning of Maxon and America’s relationship did not start off as a perfect love story. When they first met things did not go as planned for either of them. America did not like the way of the Selection, and she thought that it was just a game to Maxon. She yelled at him and told him how the castle felt like a cage, but she wanted to stay for the food and for her family. They decided that she would stay and help him select his wife with her help. From there they begun to build a strong friendship and flirt in nonobvious ways. With them spending so much time with each other, having a strong friendship, and flirting, they now have different opinions about one another. Maxon was the first one to confess his love to her, and she was surprised to finally admit to him and herself that she has feelings for him. If she chose Aspen she would have to wait for him to be done guarding, be able to go back and live in her home town, but she may not be as supported. If she chose Maxon she would be living in the castle, be fanatically supported, and be the new princess. It would also benefit her family if she chose Maxon because they would be able to come live with her at the castle and have several new opportunities to live a better sustained
