Matt Damon Water Charity Research Paper

Decent Essays
The goals of Matt Damon’s water charity are simple ideas but are more difficult to accomplish. The goals of the charity are to help provide the hundreds of thousands of people with clean water. Accomplishing such a task will allow people to be able to get out of poverty, which would help save lives and help the people to be able to have a brighter future pursuing the life they want to have. Not only that but it also gives woman more time in the day to accomplish things instead of out scavenging to collect water, but for girls the time can be used instead to be able to play. This is something that many women and girls must do every day and can take an average of 6 hours which is a huge amount of the day that they could be out doing other stuff

Small Groups, Big Impact Have you ever felt like the odds were against you? Like there were no hopes in fixing a global issue because you were only one person? From the essay “How to Melt the Arctic,” written by John Bocknek, he says, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” The author enforces that no matter the problem, a person or a group of people can change a global issue. In today’s society, people underestimate the impact that they have if they work by themselves or even in an organization.…

The article “Matt Damon’s ‘Adjustment’ - It’s ‘The Matrix’ With Heart” by Leah Rozen starts off by comparing Matt Damon (the actor for the main character in the film) to other men who are considered great actors such as Tom Hanks and Harrison Ford. The main argument for the article is that Matt Damon makes the movie what it is. Rozen states that, Damon possesses a “fundamental decency [. . . and an] ability to project it convincingly on screen.” The problem that I have with the article is the fact that Rozen discuss in great detail how great of an actor Damon is and what qualities he brings to the film.…

The actor that I choose for this assignment is one of the most well-known actors of all time, Denzel Washington. With as many accomplishments as he has, it is still shocking to me that he has only one the academy award for best actor, one time in his entire 40 plus years on the scene. Nevertheless, the award came at the right time with one of my favorite films of all time, Training Day, released in 2001 and directed by Antoine Fuqua. While I believe that he is an all-around amazing actor, Washington’s acting in this particular film is one of the best, if not the best that I have ever seen for him.…

Although the concept of Playpumps was idyllic in theory, its application was sabotaged by the strategy adopted by Playpumps International. Along with the technology, the focus was flawed: despite being a humanitarian project, there was greater emphasis on pleasing donors and meeting ambitious targets for glory, than supplying water to impoverished communities. It is important to understand that Playpumps are only one solution amongst a myriad of other water supply systems, and careful assessment is required to identify which combination of these solutions is appropriate for each individual community. Therefore, a change in priority and management is necessary to organise this project more effectively, in areas of administration, preparation, design, installation and maintenance. ADMINISTRATION:…
