First came his shock, then he yelled, “Ladies and Gentlemen, It appears we will host il matrimonio de Luna, August 3rd.” The room became silent and all eye balls were suddenly rolled on to her. The patrons clapped and cheered while Idore continued inciting the excitement, “Bella, il matrimonio de Luna.” Once embarrassment begins it never ends were one wants it to finish. Luna blushed, smiled, and perspired, all in that order. She was getting hot, she was getting cold, and she could feel the sweat come out of her pours. Still, the festive news continued, Idore called over Abele and Adelina, the Italian couple who owned L’Antica Del Rosso, to keep the festivities vivid, “We at L’Antica Del Rosso Restaurant will continue to cheer with excitement, Miss Luna is getting married!!!! “Wooooot! They walked over to Luna and planted a huge affectionate hug and kiss on her cheek. “Congratulations Luna!” Abele continued “Ormai hai detto “Si”. Tanti auguri. (Congratulations on saying your “I do’s”)!” Then it was Adelina’s turn, “Your Mother must be so proud.” That comment alone was a dagger to Luna’s heart, but she continued to drive in the nail, “You have been dining here for years, why have you never brought this boy to meet us? Who is the lucky groom? Is it Mauricio? That boy loves you so much. You can see it over his clothes.” Adelina continued her interrogations but Luna blocked her out and just could not hear her. Reality was hitting her, now she must tell her mother. There was no coming back from this news. Unable to find the words to answer for the groom, she thought, “No, the groom was not Mauricio! He will be just as surprised as I was.”
Luna began growing hotter and hotter by the question, until finally her blood pressure was no match for her lie and she fainted. Out cold there she lied on the floor. Her last thought was of her mother’s reaction to this
