Math 100 Class Reflection

Decent Essays
I was originally enrolled into a math 100 course that was to take place on Fort Rucker starting 11 Jan 2016. This class was a Tuesday and Thursday night class from 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm. I received a call from a Enterprise State Community College representative on 8 January 2016, the Friday before that class began. I was informed that the class had been cancelled and they left me with the option to take the online Math 100 class instead. I accepted that offer and on 11 January 2016 I had complete access to the online course. I had already applied for tuition assistance and informed the representative from ESCC of this. I had complete access to the online class and was under the impression that everything was fine. I sent the instructor of the course

Even though many colleges offer online courses nowadays, I would have to travel too far of a distance for any of my administrative needs. The fact that I can continue to travel 15 minutes for any of these needs has weighed heavily on my decision to apply at Wilmington University. Not only does a lengthy travel time waste much needed funds but it takes away too much time that I could be spending with my growing family. The location of Wilmington University at Burlington County College is not only familiar but it allows for me to take full advantage of your flexible course…

Short Term 12 was a very interesting movie. It had hints of being realistic, but with aspects where you knew it was a movie. It’s about a group of workers who work in a foster care residential facility setting. The main character, Grace, deals with her own personal struggles while she supervises the children at the facility. I have a short bit of experience at a facility like Short Term 12 in some aspects; I can see where parts of the movie are realistic and where are some are an exaggeration because it is a movie.…

Unfortunately, one of the limitations of this program was the strict set of courses that members were required to follow in order to maintain their membership. Although a resolution has recently been reached to address this issue, I have had to seek resources outside of those provided by my high school. For example, I am currently enrolled in CS50x, Harvard’s Introduction to Computer Science course offered through www.edx.org. In the past, I have used websites such as www.codecademy.org in order to begin to learn the basic principles of programming. Moreover, I have done all of this in the last few years while doing the work for 6-7 honors/AP courses at the same time.…

Before taking SGST 200 class, I had a very narrow view of sexualities and gender’s problems, but I was fine with that for such a long time. Even when I decide to take this class, I wasn’t expecting to change or have a whole new view of problems like racism, sexism, and homophobia. In SGST200, I learned that there is nothing wrong with being different from others, we should be proud of ourselves and be respectful to others. We can’t change the biological diversity; everyone is different since they are born and they have rights to choose what they want to be.…

When it came time to choose the classes I was going to take my senior year, I decided to enroll in the dual enrollment English class offered at my school. I met all the necessary requirements, but I did not receive my student ID number from the community college that was needed to complete my application to schedule to take the placement exam. After two trips to the community college, I had my ID number and was eligible to take the exam, but there were no more spots for the test held at my school. Being that I preferred receiving outright college credits, I had to schedule the exam on the college campus. I scored high enough not to worry about getting a seat in the class.…

The lessons the workshop taught the children that went through it was invaluable. We hope that we as adults show our children learn from us the mistakes of the past and treat people equally. The lessons that this workshop teaches are lessons that everyone should have.
