Uniforms take away a student’s individuality and self-expression. In fact, students already have many standards at school, so if students lose their freedom of choosing clothes, they will have very few ways of expressing their individual. For example, when you wake up and have to wear a uniform instead of clothes of your choice, you might become grumpy and have a bad attitude toward school. Also, if the weather is hot or cold, students in uniforms aren’t comfortable, and will most likely become upset that school required you to wear uniforms. In addition, most uniforms don’t feel fuzzy and fleecy like everyday clothes so students might become so uncomfortable, they won’t want to do work and go to school. In conclusion, uniforms can create unhappy feelings toward school.
I , however understand that others might feel uniforms are necessary at Masuda. People might argue that uniforms cut down on the amount of school crime that happens. Also, some might claim that uniforms give students one less thing to worry about. In addition, people occasionally argue that uniforms save money on purchasing “cool” clothes. I , still feel that uniforms should not be mandatory for students to wear at Masuda.
I still believe that uniforms should not be mandatory at Masuda. Individuality, self-expression,well needed money, and positive feelings toward school are all lost and affected by school uniforms. Masuda Middle School needs to stop considering making uniforms mandatory…
