Characteristics of the Master’s Graduate
Promote, manage, and coordinate health care in culturally and ethnically diverse populations within areas of specialization.
As an advanced practice nurse, I have clinical knowledge in cardiology, internal and sleep medicine, which permits me to render medical services to a diverse adult patient population. However, I have functioned in a patient population that typically has access to medical insurance. As a master’s graduate student at UAMS, I have been exposed to a diverse patient population with health care disparities, which I now feel truly needs to be addressed. Therefore, I have committed my services to a couple of community healthcare organizations in the Little Rock area in hopes to help them

In NUSC 5723, Nursing Informatics, I thoroughly researched and designed a Process/Workflow Analysis with a focus on implementing a theory and research-based, systematic initiative which resulted in creating a Heart Failure Disease Management (HFDM) Program in order to reduce heart failure readmission health care costs, as well as enhance patient care. Therefore, as a master’s prepared graduate, with confidence, I have the ability to approach dilemmas analytically as I have been well educated on how to successfully define a problem, organize data, hypothesize the problem, communicate a decision, and evaluate an outcome.
Deliver health care that is responsive and accessible to the consumer in a variety of health care systems.
Since my admittance into the Master’s program at UAMS, I have been energetically contributing in the delivery of healthcare through various pathways by means of theory and research-based driven patient care in a variety of clinical settings, clinical educational activities, professional consultation, in addition to a committed participation in service and professional

As I reflect on what I have learned from the education curriculum and on my principles relative to teaching, education, and the learner, I believe that teaching is dynamic and I believe that as a prospective educator, I owe students my very best and that all students deserve a quality education; therefore, it is my desire to engage, challenge and motivate students to learn. Therefore, as a prospective educator, I have gained a plethora knowledge that I will be able to apply in order to improve the learning process in a classroom through the use of considering the students' learning style and the many teaching methods available when creating a curriculum. Furthermore, I have gained an appreciation for assessment and evaluation tools in determining outcomes, so that necessary modifications can be applied to my teaching
