Soft skill might be more important than you think. Computer science students tend to think that their job in the future might be just staying in your home or office facing the computer and do coding all day. They tend to think that they don’t have to interact with people at all and can always work alone. Many people has picked computer science as their major because they think their personality doesn’t fit to interact with people. Unfortunately, that is not true and very misleading. It might seems fine at the start of your career if a person are lacking of soft skill, but it will get very difficult after awhile. The relationship of soft skill and computer science are always left unnoticed because it is very complicated to investigate.
Although that hard skill are important, but without soft skill, hard skill is useless. Hard skill such as the skill of the degree of computer science can be represent by a certificate, unfortunately that is not the case for soft skill. Hard skill may look cool in your resume, but the soft skills is what actually how other people will judge you. Hard skill are not hard to learn while soft skill are more challenging to develop. Employee need to have interpersonal skills to be able to successfully develop a software. In the process of software developing, it is impossible to work alone, it require teamwork which bring in the fact that team playing skills are needed too.
