Author Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow." I am a firm believer in this statement, because without taking risks and testing yourself, you will never prosper or change. You may be surprised to find that when you start trying new, exciting things, you become more alive and positive. This quote applies to certain aspects of my life, such as, school and sports. Nowadays, our society is so judgmental, that branching out and experiencing new things, is frowned upon. This quote can apply to everyday life for most teenagers, including myself. We are constantly pushed to try new things and to get better at the things that we already know. For example,
