As one explains the three factors that affect a leader’s ability to master persuasion, it is important to point out the relationship these three concepts have to one another. An effective leader understands people, and he illustrates his understanding to them with the effective use of words. The current CEO of my organization is on several separate boards where he serves as a voice for not only mental health, but their families and communities. I have had the privilege of attending legislative forums where CEO’s from different community mental health organizations must lobby for funds to remain in our budget to keep our doors open.
