Masters Of War is about the fight against the military and government, the theme of this song is War/Protest Music. The lyrics show that war brings the worst fears and impacts of society and peoples lives. There is no pity towards the soldiers and their is no tolerance either. He states that war can only bring hate towards mankind. Dylan wanted to carry out the message of values and peace, there are both negative and positive connotations in this song. There are many contrasts and various forms of repetition in this song. There are 8 verses, and in 8 stanzas, in which there are simple and structured sentences.
