In the new program standards established by AACN, baccalaureate nurses are projected to be able to detect clinical issues, review, synthesize evidence, and evaluate outcomes (AACN, 2008). The master level nurses are expected to exhibit advanced skills that can efficiently transform policies, practices, and procedures (AACN, 2011). For the doctorate-level nurses, the expectation is that they will be proficient clinicians, lead facilitators for refining healthcare delivery within an inter-professional environment and be leaders in health policy (Balakas & Smith, 2016). The demand goes beyond the classroom setting, hence, there has to be a health care environment that supports change and ready to embrace
