Lecture included hope, despair ,and memory , it came clear to me that this was
true. “Master Harold” and the boys had despair when it came up between Hally and
Sam . Hally became unfair and rude towards Sam , when all Sam was doing was
speaking the truth. Although Hally had troubles in his family, but he did not have to
take it out on Sam. Elie Wiesel’s Nobel Lecture talks about how memory is a gift and

He
spit in Sams face and demanded him to call him Master Harold. Sam then stuck up for
himself in a respectful way towards Hally. It was great how Sam calmly argues back

Elie Wiesel Nobel Lecture was very deep and included hope, despair, and
memories. In the lecture he talked about how memory was so powerful, how it could
save humanity. He also included very religious awakens about memories. “Only God
remembers everything”. “We must remember to never give up hope no matter how
bad things get”. With that saying and momentum in our minds only makes us stronger
to keep moving forward. You must keep on to our dreams, because dreams is what
makes us have hope. He talks about peace and how it can save us all. We must give
peace to get peace, because we the people can only give that gift. We must keep our
faith to rebell , for that is what hold us together.
These writing of Athol Fugard and Elie Wiesel have really spoken out to me.
