Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is about the British Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. It is a fun movie that kept people on their seats. This movie was very enjoyable and there are three reasons why. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is most memorable for its exciting action scenes, themes of camaraderie, and components of heroism. The action scenes keep viewers interested and on the edge of their seats. First, Blakeney is injured during the ship’s first battle, causing him to have his arm amputated. He fights on, and shows his bravery throughout this scene. Then, during the final battle the British and French gave it their all. The British disguises themselves

The heroism starts during the first battle between the Acheron and the Surprise, the English’s ship. The Acheron shoots down one of the Surprise’s masts with a sailor on it. Even though, cutting it loose meant risking the sailors life, Captain Jack had to do so to save the rest of his crew. Then, after the mast is free the French destroys the ship’s steering. This however doesn’t slow them down. The sailors make a believable decoy and pull the Surprise to safety. The French could have seen that there was decoy and killed the small boats, but the British do not care as long as they do what they can to save themselves. Lastly, during the final battle, Captain Jack gives Blakeney the roll of Leutenant. Blakeney held this roll well and helps lead the British to victory. Blakeney is only a young boy and yet he shows more bravery than anyone else on the ship. Therefore, the heroism is shown quiet well throughout the movie. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is an amazing movie because of its action, camaraderie, and heroism. The action scenes keeps the movie alive. The Camaraderie holds the viewer’s hearts making them feel close to the actors. Finally, there is the heroism that holds the movie together. The movie is fairly enjoyable and hopefully there will be a second movie to show how the war

In the movie Glory I found that my favorite part was when Col. Robert Shaw announced to the soldiers that if you are a black soldier and are captured during battle they will be returned to slavery and if you are a white soldier and something happens to your men you will be put to death and you are allowed to leave by morning if you want. Then the next morning everybody is still there. This part stood out to me because it shows how much all these men wanted to be free. They were willing to risk their lives and even their freedom to fight for their right to be free. My least favorite part is in the beginning of the movie when Col. Robert Shaw is getting whatever is stuck in his neck out but there is blood everywhere and a man being amputated in the background and I just find it very gross.…

Based on author, Michael Shaara’s award winning novel, The Killer Angels, the film The Battle of Gettysburg made its debut on screen in the United States, on October 8, 1993. The film vividly depicts the epic three day battle of Gettysburg. Nearly identical to the novel, the film’s main focus is on the experiences of General Robert E. Lee, Lieutenant General James Longstreet, Colonel Joshua Chamberlain and Brig. When it comes to history, nothing can be one-hundred percent accurate, and this was the case with the film The Battle of Gettysburg. The film does its best as possibly as it can by getting as close to being accurate, which will have many historians agree with.…
