Massey School of Dance is not only a competitive dance studio but a family where I spent 15 years of my life learning life lessons and amazing choreography. I started dancing at Massey when I was three years old and I loved every second of it. When I was younger I played soccer, was on a gymnastics team, played softball, and danced, when I reached the age of 10 I quit everything but dance. At the young age of 8 I was asked to be on our competition team because my dance techniques were high enough to compete with the team. At Massey competition season is the best time of the year. In preparation for competition we attend workshops hosted by famous dancers from all over the United States. Senior year was one of my favorite years because a lot …show more content…
I can honestly say I made senior year one of the best ones yet. We participated in 5 competitions and qualified to go to nationals at Atlantic Beach NC. While at nationals I preformed my solo and 8 group dances. My favorite dances were of course my solo because I choreographed it I won 2nd highest scoring solo of the whole entire competition and then our troupe and hip-hop dance. Troupe was my favorite because it was very sassy and I am a sassy person 24/7 and it won 1st place in its division and “sassiest dance” of the day award which I was super proud of. Hip- hop was a scary monster dance but was a hardcore hard hitting dance and it got the audience really excited but it got us dancers so out of breath, this dance won 1st place in its division as well and then we go the “sweetest scariest costume” of the day. Senior year ended with a bang and I could not have been more proud of my team as a whole because we went in with our heads up and never let them fall down so we came out strong. Senior year was my favorite because we did so well in competition but not only that because I made my memories last because I knew that after this they were over. Every chance I got I went to the studio because those are the times when I was stressed and need some time to just let all my feelings loose. I am happy for the memories I made during the years but I was very sad to see them end so

At the end of the year at the school's spring concert, I was awarded the Wildcat Rookie of the Year, which was a huge achievement for my.…

Lauren Since about ninth grade, there was one thing that my best friend Sarah and I wanted from high school: to be in National Honor Society. Even in our freshman year, we knew what an honor it would be to be part of such an elite organization, and we wanted to be part of that. In our school, there is a requirement that you must be in at least two clubs (among other stricter requirements) to be considered for induction.…

How could one possibly express the emotions which lie deep within the soul of a person? Is it viable to bring these feelings of pain, joy, shame, and confusion to the surface without vocally explaining them? Absolutely. Since the beginning of time, dance and rhythmic movement have been used to personify the intangible which resides within the mind and soul of one’s entity. Understanding this, the idea that dance as an interpretive art form comes as no surprise.…

As an unimportant freshman, all I can remember is striving to become a senior. To be a senior meant being at the top of the totem pole, the apex predator. High school would then be my domain, and I would have some amazing revelation of my spot in the world. Three years of difficult work brought me to an undiscovered land, an undiscovered land that I had already discovered. Aside from being friends with some of my teachers and graduating that year, senior year seemed the same as any year.…

The formation of dance has lived on this world for many generations as we continue to pass through history. When I went to the wonderful performance at Pierce College I experienced a whole new perspective on dancing. The concert had many types of students performing mixed dance projects of all types like solos and duets. There was an average size of one to eight dancers per project which made it the ideal size for the concert. I really enjoyed the creativity and effort put into this performance.…

Senior Year My greatest memory so far in my eighteen years of being on this earth is without a doubt my senior year of high school. It was absolutely unforgettable. My senior year as a whole (which was just last year) was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life and the happiest I have ever been. When I was a chubby little freshman with glasses I thought to myself that high school would be one of the longest time periods of my life and that four years would feel like forty years. But man was I wrong, high school went by in the blink of an eye.…
