The initial introduction, where the client meets their Massage Therapist is a key example of health communications. One of our most important jobs as a Massage Therapist is making sure that the client is a prime candidate for the massage therapy service. When the client arrives they are handed a medical intake form. Medical intake forms are legal documents which inform us of health conditions that the client might be suffering from. When we receive the medical intake form, we must review it. We look for possible contraindications, that might prevent us from performing the service. Once that task is complete, we go introduce ourselves to our client. In the introduction we state our name, and inform them that we will be performing their massage
