In history, we have heard about numerous mass shootings happening all around the world. A mass shooting consists of four or more shot and/or killed in a single event. Mass shootings can happen “in backyards and at block parties, in mansions and housing projects, in quiet neighborhoods and at rowdy bars, at schools, restaurants, churches, gas stations and grocery stores” (Stuart). Stuart also mentions: “They are random, and they are premeditated” (Stuart). In particular, schools are foremost targeted. She was in such distraught, since she described her son that he would never be associated with guns even if it was a joke. She was surprised that it headlined the news on TV, but knew something was wrong. Therefore, she suddenly asked questions and never before her eyes, that her son was one of the perpetrators who would be held responsible for the crime that has occurred. This memory will always make her question why, but has nevermore ultimately affected her life. Besides Sue’s horrifying memory, on December 14, 2012, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, was another mass shooting incident. At Newtown, 20-year-old, Adam Lanza, fatally shot 20 children aged between 6 and 7 years old, as well as six adult staff members. Sandy Hook has caused innocent lives to die in the act of gun violence. Adam Lanza’s main weapon of choice proved that he had clear intentions of doing the most harm. Today, Sandy Hook and Columbine both are in horrific mass shooting tragedies in the United States of all time tragic events. After Sandy Hook, we now want our own demands to end all gun violence.
